I recently had the honour to visit Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos, where I delivered a lecture titled “Future Proof Your Career: Developing Employability Skills for a Changing World.”
In today’s fast-evolving world, the need for adaptability, continuous learning, and a forward-thinking mindset has never been greater. During my session, I engaged with the bright and highly driven students of Pan-Atlantic University, discussing:
🟩 How technology and globalization are
reshaping the job market and employers’
expectations.
🟩 The importance of mastering basic employability
competencies like
problem-solving, teamwork, AI & technological
savviness, communication, critical thinking, and
emotional intelligence.
🟩 Why building a habit of lifelong learning is the
key to staying ahead.
🟩 Practical strategies for aligning personal growth
with career aspirations.
We discussed how to leverage the evolving trends in the world of work positively and how to position proactively for evolving roles like personal digital curators, digital detox therapists, corporate disorganisers, crowd funding specialists, cyber security, robotics etc.
The enthusiasm, insightful questions, and diverse perspectives shared by the students reaffirmed my belief in the power of practical education to shape the future of Africa. Their eagerness to embrace change and proactively prepare for tomorrow’s challenges was immensely inspiring.
